Job Summary

As a Health and Nutrition Officer, you will provide essential nursing care and treatment for malnourished children and vulnerable groups following GOAL’s protocols and national CMAM guidelines. You will be responsible for supervising and implementing health and nutrition services such as SC, OTP, TSFP, IYCF, and C-MAMI.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Conduct physical examinations and manage patients under the CMAM program.

  • Administer routine and supplemental medication as per protocol.

  • Maintain strict hygiene standards and infection prevention practices.

  • Ensure proper care and treatment in OTP/SC/TSFP and support dietary diversity.

  • Monitor treatment progress and manage referrals across phases.

Program Support

  • Conduct regular community screenings with the nutrition team.

  • Ensure appropriate triage, admission, and discharge of patients.

  • Engage in health education sessions for caregivers and communities.

  • Manage defaulter tracing, follow-up, and feedback loops with outreach teams.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate medical and patient records.

  • Support data collection and submit reports to the supervisor.

  • Monitor stock and usage of medical supplies and nutritional items.

Team Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor nurse aides, nutrition assistants, and other staff.

  • Work closely with the community engagement team for outreach and follow-ups.


Required Qualifications

Education & Licensing

  • Diploma (Level IV) in Nursing + COC Certificate + Valid license
    AND at least 2 years of experience in hospitals or NGOs
    OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSc) + COC Certificate + Valid license
    AND at least 1 year of experience

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of CMAM, IYCF, SC, OTP, and TSFP

  • Good communication and community engagement skills

  • Computer literacy is a plus

  • Team leadership and training experience

  • Committed to gender, child protection, and accountability values
