Shirshir Business Group PLC is a fast-growing, privately owned company based in Ethiopia, actively engaged in multiple business sectors. With a strong foundation in import and export—covering commodities such as coffee, pulses, oilseeds, livestock, vehicles, textiles, and food products—the company is also expanding into manufacturing, including plans to establish an electric vehicle assembly plant. As part of its expansion, the company is seeking to recruit skilled professionals for key technical roles.

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Sanitary Engineer with at least 2 years of professional experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of sanitation systems, including wastewater treatment plants, sewage networks, and waste disposal infrastructure. The role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and review sanitation systems in accordance with engineering standards and national codes.

• Oversee project implementation, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimize ecological impact.

• Prepare technical reports and documentation related to sanitation infrastructure.

• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contractors.

• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or a related field.

• Proficient in AutoCAD for technical design.

• Experience with sanitary and firefighting system design.

• Familiarity with NFPA codes and international sanitation standards.
