Position Summary

We are currently seeking a highly qualified Education Coordinator to support the implementation of the ECW-MYRP II (2024–2027) project. The role will be based in Moyale with frequent travel to field locations. The Education Coordinator will provide technical oversight, build partner capacity, and coordinate the effective delivery of quality education programs in target areas.

This role reports directly to the Head of Field Office and has a technical reporting line to the Education & Child Protection Program Manager and the ECW-MYRP II Senior Program Manager at the country office.


Key Responsibilities

Project Management and Coordination

  • Lead and coordinate ECW-MYRP II implementation in target woredas.

  • Ensure timely delivery of project activities and maintain quality standards.

  • Develop and monitor detailed implementation plans (DIPs) with partners.

  • Collaborate with technical partners (HI, NRC, FAWE) and ensure alignment with national education frameworks.

  • Ensure community and local government engagement in project activities.

Capacity Building and Support

  • Organize and facilitate capacity-building sessions for implementing partners.

  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to enhance quality.

  • Roll out tools, standards, and quality benchmarks across project areas.

  • Address partner capacity gaps and promote inclusive education practices.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

  • Support data collection, evaluation activities, and baseline assessments.

  • Collaborate with the MEAL team to track key performance indicators.

  • Document lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.

  • Contribute to regular reporting and learning events.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with zonal and woreda education offices and other local authorities.

  • Represent Save the Children in local coordination meetings and forums.

  • Foster positive relationships with all program stakeholders.


Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Planning and Management, or related fields.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in program implementation, with at least 3 years in a coordinator role in INGOs or similar organizations.

  • Strong skills in planning, organization, and strategic thinking.

  • Experience working in multi-sectoral programs, including education and child protection.

  • Strong computer literacy and documentation skills.

  • Willingness to travel frequently and work under challenging conditions.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Ethiopia’s education policy, frameworks, and development plans.

  • Experience working with the Ministry of Education or regional education offices.

  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and report writing.

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written); knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with the geographic and cultural context of Moyale and surrounding areas.
