The Opportunity
Plan International is looking for a qualified Education Officer to support its Education in Emergencies (EiE) program. The successful candidate will work closely with school management, regional and local education offices, and key stakeholders including NGOs, INGOs, UNHCR, and RRS.
This role involves program planning, implementation, and monitoring in emergency settings, with a direct reporting line to the Education in Emergency Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with school management and education stakeholders in the field
-
Participate in needs assessments, program design, implementation, and evaluation

Work with other sectors to ensure integrated responses in humanitarian settings

Support the rollout of safeguarding and gender inclusion standards in all activities
Safeguarding & Inclusion
-
Understand and implement Plan International’s Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) policies
-
Ensure team members are properly inducted and uphold the organization’s Code of Conduct
-
Report safeguarding concerns through appropriate procedures
Required Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
-
University degree in Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Development, or related field
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in formal and non-formal education, primarily in field contexts
-
At least two successful deployments in complex refugee emergencies
Desirable:
-
Strong understanding of education in emergency methodologies
-
Excellent facilitation and training skills
-
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant tools
