JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc., a leading US-based public health nonprofit organization, is hiring an Insurance Broker to manage health and life insurance services for our employees in Ethiopia. This role involves liaising between JSI and insurance providers to ensure optimal employee coverage, compliance with all applicable laws, and regulatory standards.

Role Overview: Insurance Broker

The Insurance Broker will act as the key liaison between JSI and insurance providers, ensuring comprehensive health and life insurance services for our employees. You will conduct evaluations, negotiate competitive terms, and provide ongoing support for claims and policy management.


Key Responsibilities

As an Insurance Broker at JSI, you will:

  • Product Evaluation: Conduct thorough market analysis and recommend suitable health and life insurance products based on coverage, cost, and benefits.
  • Needs Assessment: Perform surveys to determine the insurance needs of JSI employees.
  • Negotiation: Secure optimal terms and pricing with insurance carriers for JSI employees.
  • Claims Assistance: Facilitate claims payments and act as an intermediary between employees and insurers.
  • Ongoing Support: Provide continuous support to employees, including policy changes, claims, and inquiries.
  • Market Updates: Regularly update on trends, policy evaluations, and regulatory changes.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all activities comply with relevant employee benefit regulations.
  • Employee Training: Educate employees on insurance options and claims processes.

About You: Qualifications & Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Licensing: Must have a valid license issued by the National Bank of Ethiopia for insurance activities.
  • Experience: Proven experience in insurance brokerage or risk management.
  • Specialization: Expertise in a wide range of insurance products and the ability to explain them clearly.
  • Compliance Documentation: Provide evidence of tax registration, payments, and other required documentation.
