Program Coordinator – Cancer Awareness & Support Project

Position Summary

The Belisha Foundation is seeking an experienced Program Coordinator to lead its Cancer Awareness and Support Project. This role involves planning, coordination, monitoring, budgeting, partnership management, and resource mobilization. You will support programs that focus on cancer awareness, patient care, child education, and elderly support.


Key Responsibilities

 Program Management

  • Develop and manage quarterly and annual work plans.

  • Implement and monitor program activities like medical support, child education, and elderly care.

  • Conduct site visits and ensure program quality.

 Partnership & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work with government agencies (e.g., Ministry of Health, Women & Social Affairs), hospitals (e.g., Tikur Anbessa), CSOs, and schools.

  • Draft and manage MOUs and partnership agreements.

  • Represent the Foundation in forums and policy dialogues.

 Budget & Finance

  • Work with the Finance/Admin team to track budgets.

  • Ensure cost-effective project implementation.

  • Address and resolve budget variances.

Project Development & Fundraising

  • Design and initiate new programs.

  • Write project proposals and donor pitches.

  • Identify and engage funding partners and CSR opportunities.

  • Mobilize in-kind donations like school supplies or medical equipment.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Track program outputs and outcomes using M&E tools.

  • Lead baseline, midterm, and final evaluations.

  • Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Document success stories, best practices, and impact reports.


What We’re Looking For

Education

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Project Management, or a related field.

  • A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years (with Master’s) or 7 years (with Bachelor’s) of experience in project coordination.

  • Prior experience with multi-sectoral programs (health, education, social protection) is a plus.

  • Experience in donor engagement and grant writing is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of cancer care and community-based programming.

  • Familiarity with gender-sensitive and vulnerable group programming.

  • Budgeting, M&E, reporting, and digital tools proficiency.

  • Strong command of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Language

  • Excellent spoken and written skills in English, Amharic, and Afan Oromo.

  • Ability to work independently under pressure.
