Job Title: One Health Specialist
Project: EPPR (Ethio-Pandemic Multi-Sectoral Prevention, Preparedness, and Response)

Type: PSA (Personal Services Agreement) – Non-staff Opportunity
Duration: 3 months, with possible extension

About the Project
The EPPR project, implemented by the Government of Ethiopia with FAO, WHO, and UNICEF as partners, aims to strengthen the country’s pandemic prevention, detection, and response capacities. It follows the One Health (OH) approach, aligning with the International Health Regulations (IHR-2005), and focuses on zoonotic diseases and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Duties & Responsibilities

Develop a monitoring tool for evaluating OH approaches during and after the project
-
Participate in EPPR Technical Working Group meetings
-
Support coordination within the animal health sector
-
Provide technical advice during national and subnational OH forums
-
Develop information-sharing proposals for OH Platform members
-
Create templates for tracking animal health sector contributions to the National Action Plan for Health Security (NAPHS)
-
Map ongoing animal health projects and identify synergies
-
Promote awareness of the OH approach among development partners
-
Recommend strategies for integrating the crop sector into OH initiatives
-
Perform other relevant tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
-
Advanced university degree in Animal Health or related fields
Experience:
-
Minimum of 7 years in animal health programme management
-
Experience in One Health, stakeholder engagement, and project implementation
Languages:

Working knowledge of English and Amharic
